sOCial sunday explores the real estate angle to social networks like blogging, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Marketing pro Carol Flammer (@AtlantaRP) of mRELEVANCE publishes of the Atlanta real estate blog AtlantaRealEstateForum. She tells us why homebuilders should be blogging …
- Your blog is the horsepower behind your social networking program. Building a social media program without a blog is like trying to drive a car without an engine.
- A well-built blog provides valuable search engine optimization for your main Web site in terms of increased keywords and links. The more keywords and links you have, the easier it is for search engines to find your main Web site.
- Blogging provides a relaxed voice for your company. Unlike a corporate site, a blog encourages conversation and interaction. Blogging is a great way to get a pulse on what your buyers are thinking. To the nay-sayers: “Wouldn’t you rather have your unhappy customer commenting on your blog than starting their own?”
- One cornerstones of your online brand and reputation. Have you Googled your name? Do you like what you see? Do you only see your Web site? A well-built blog will help to populate your page one results.
- An interesting, informative, effectively built blog will attract followers and the search engines, as well as send traffic to your Web site. Blogs typically are seen on traffic reports as a top five referral source with high time on site. Who doesn’t want more qualified traffic?

Nice article. Blogging allows for more self-expression.Many would prefer a blog to a boring website anyday. Found an interesting website on housing, with blogging options:

True, homebuilders have a lot to do. We just helped a major (top 5) homebuilder with some advice on how to integrate Social Media and blogging into their Marketing plan, but were surprised at how blogging is changing, especially in the world of real estate. We were shocked to see ActiveRain’s traffic is actually relatively flat for the year. So, we recommend any homebuilder also include a hefty dose of relathionship building via Social Media as a compliment to a blogging strategy. We talked more about it in our blog post “Why Your Blog Traffic Fell”
