A Dover Shores house owned by pro baseball pitcher Jaret Wright recently sold for $1.67 million. Broker Andrew Karigan with Prudential California Realty says this Newport Beach home, originally listed at $1.795 million, was on the market for approximately 45 days.

Wright is currently a free agent, but previously pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also a starter with the Baltimore Orioles last year before being benched with an arm injury. Wright has been on major league teams for 11 years, and pitched at the 1997 World Series. He is an Anaheim native, and is currently living near San Clemente.

The Wright home, according to Karigan, has three bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms, a three-car garage, and sits on a 10,000-square-foot lot that has a resort-style pool including a rock waterfall slide, fire pit and spa. Wright owned the house for 11 years, paying $699,000 for it, according to public records. (Click on photos to see bigger versions!)
